This St. John’s Wort tincture is carefully made from the flowering tops of Hypericum perforatum, delivering a potent herbal extract. This 1:2 formulation is standardised to ensure that each millilitre contains a minimum of 0.16mg of hypericin, one of the key active compounds thought to be responsible for the herbs mood-balancing properties.

Most of the tinctures I sell are 1:3 extracts, that is, they contain one part herb to three parts liquid.  Many other suppliers sell much weaker tinctures which are 1:5 strength, containing one part herb to every five parts liquid.  This St. John’s wort extract is a 1:2 formula, so stronger than both 1:3 and 1:5 tinctures.

Ingredients: This tincture is made in the traditional way, by hydro-ethanolic percolation with a ratio of one part hypericum perforatum to two parts liquid. The liquid is 55% water and 45% sugar beet derived ethanol.
